On Saturday, at the end of hemodialysis, Claire had a seizure. The cause for the seizures (she had a total of 3) is thought to be because of electrolyte imbalance, but no one is certain. They ran a multitude of tests and cultures which all came back fine; cultures were negative; the MRI showed no damage or cause; the X-Ray showed a healthy body, if not slightly gunky lungs (from inhaling spit).
As of right now, Claire is being sedated and is on CVVH, or hemodialysis over a long period of time. She has a breathing tube in case something happened during hemodialysis. They hope to take that out tomorrow (Tuesday).
Before this setback, Claire was getting on track development-wise. She was starting to babble and could say "Dada" and "ba" for bottle/pacifier. She was rolling over and eating semi-solid foods. The doctors see no reason for her not to be able to do these things after she wakes up later this week.
